She was so nervous to officially ask for a job, that instead of calling to submit an application, she booked a bathing appointment for her dog! Her husband refused to leave until Kate asked for the job, though. Seven years later, Kate is still a wonderful member of the bathing team! Everything she has learned since being here she has learned from Lucie and the amazing staff at the Palace. Her favorite dogs to bathe are the puppies, because she loves to build a rapport with the newcomers. When asked what he wanted to do next, the answer was clear-work with dogs! Justin’s niece, whose dogs frequent Lucie’s for grooming, daycare, and boarding, suggested he check out Lucie’s, and he fit right into the team. Justin enjoys building a rapport with each animal, pairing dogs with similar playstyles, and working with high-energy and temperamental animals. Justin graduated from Immaculata University in 2009 with his Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology.

Kelsey Raser | Assistant General Manager
Kelsey is the Assistant General Manager at Lucie’s, and has been with the team since May of 2021. She graduated with her Bachelors of Psychology in fall of 2023. Kelsey loves to spend her time with her dog Rocky, a little Chihuahua mix, whom she adopted from Lucie in September 2022, after building a close relationship with him through the previous summer. She is so grateful he chose her as his person! Her love and passion for animals began early in her childhood. Growing up, she was always around dogs and cats of her own, or family members. She was always interested in all kinds of animals, from household pets to farm animals. What sets Lucie’s apart to her, is our ability to create intimate bonds with the pets that come through our doors. Because we are a smaller facility, we are able to spend more time with, and create more deep and meaningful connections with the pets!
Elsa earned a BA in Communications from Wheaton College. She has always been passionate about art, animals and the outdoors. After adopting a puppy, she came to Lucie’s as a client looking for a highly recommended venue for puppy socialization. Once there, she never left, quickly signing up to work the front desk where she enjoys petting ALL the dogs daily; their unconditional love and joy is contagious. When not at the Palace, she can be found indulging in her other passions—being a mom to her two adult boys (from afar while they’re in college), working on a watercolor painting for an upcoming show, or celebrating the outdoors on her mountain bike in the woods.

This directly translates to the exceptional service we are able to provide our clients and their pets!

She started at Lucie’s in her freshman year of high school and is currently in her sophomore year of college, studying English and Business at Villanova University. She started working at Lucie’s to hang out with a bunch of her favorite animals, but as she grew older, the uplifting environment at the Palace was just what she needed to get her through high school and the beginning of college. She had grown up with animals all her life, with her childhood dogs named Max and Ruby and her family's horses Frosty and Cash.
